Funny the things you can do once your student days are over,
and funner the things you can do with your RN other than bedside care.
Just got offered a part time position as an RN Clinical Liaison for a IV infusion company!
Although my ultimate goal is to be at the bedside in the PICU, I’ll take this job as a opportunity to see another side of nursing :)
So I figure I start today as I sip on this glass of wine.
PICU Lesson #1: Do something good for yourself everyday.
Of all the things that I have experienced in the PICU so far, one of the hardest things I have dealt with is families. I love talking to them and comforting them, but its been especially draining on me this particular week with a family that I’ve been working with for the past week. So I got some very good basic advice: do something good for myself everyday.
Its so simple, and yet I’ve been neglecting to do so. I haven’t been to the gym in weeks and a good portion of my time has been working.
So I’ve decided that I need to start making an effort to go to the gym. Or at least do something that takes the load off of my shoulders I take on when I go to care for my patients and their families.
hmmms so i haven’t been able to shake this sickness for a while….
got a full 5 day course of antibiotics after being diagnosed with bronchitis…took away the yellow mucous but my cough has turned dry n i still have copious amounts of mucous…
plus i get air hungry. guess ill be going bak to the doc if it doesn’t change after tomorrow
